ABSTRACT
For the mobile market now, perhaps android and
iOS is the best product popular, apple and samsung beat the dominance of Nokia
which has for so long dominated the Indonesian mobile market and the world and
perhaps many of us are confused, want to buy iphone using iOS, or samsung
galaxy used andoid.
The most fundamental difference of both platforms
is the nature of its development, if Android is open source, which we as a user
can open freely fit our needs although often confusion and iOS which is closed
source, we as users are not able to open freely but the apple as a developer to
provide all the needs of everyday applications and for business support
applications, iphone can be proud, because the number of applications
registered in apple appstore reached more than 600,000 apps, while the number
of supporters terdaptar application in android market, more than 500,000
applications. but many observers technologies that estimate, the number of
Android applications will grow faster because there is no system review on the
android market, unlike in the apple appstore, so when a person makes an
application for android, applications can directly publish to the android
market, whereas if we make aplication for iphone or ipad, we must wait for
confirmation first when the application we have completed phase review system,
newly published in apple appstore, complicated but safety for users more secure
compared android application that is not through the review system, so security
android application is more prone to irregularities or malware.

I.
INTRODUCTION
Android and iOS both systems on
mobile devices. Today is an emerging devices such as android phone system,
Windows Phone, IOS, Windows 8, and so on. of the many that there are two that
dominate the market today, the android and iOS.
Many Android phones carried by Asian
companies such as Samsung. Using the Linux operating system is open source can
be designed arbitrarily make android users. The number of free applications for
Android also makes this type of phone more attractive. However, should the
sophistication of its users because the system is quite complicated to dubbed
smart phone.
Meanwhile, iOs also a sophisticated mobile phone created by Apple.
As with other Apple products, iOs more
resilient against malware. System on iOS more
closed, not open source like android. That is, applications for iOS only valid permission of apple. This makes more
secure than iOS android because of lack of virus
attacks or even almost non-existent.
In appearance it is easier to use from iOS android
super complicated. In the display there is a small icon like iOS windows phone. Well, this simple display makes it
easy to explore the detail iOS itself.
Unlike the simple iOS, android
gives the user the opportunity to create their own looks. Sure can be creative,
not monotonous, but also complicated. Again, android is suitable for smart people IT.
Talk application problems ios not
less than android. The good news iOS now has
more than 600,000 downloadable applications for everyday purposes. while,
android has a balanced amount, more than the 500.00 applications. Although
slightly lost iOS, but
observers claim that most likely will soon compete with android applications iOS. Why? Because people can easily update the
application without permission and there. Meanwhile, to create new applications
on iOS need permission from apple which is certainly complicated.
Ease of uploading a new application
on android could be good news or bad news instead. The good news is your phone
immediately far from monotonous and miss. The bad news is your phone easily
damaged if accidentally download the application irresponsible. Because it is
open source, then the hands of ignorant like wandering.
Differences android and iOS the other is on the button. iOS just got home button only, while android is no home
button, back, and menu. The small difference will be felt when you used to use
iOS then switch to android.
In security certainly much safer
than iOS android. System iOS closed and
apple, as usual responsible for the toughness of products. Medium if you view
the issue price of android are arguably much more affordable. Moreover, it now
appears the new products in the android market.

DISCUSSION
2.1
Android vs iOS (iPhone)
Android is an
operating system (not a smartphone) which is developed by Google. This
smartphone is designed to be run on any handset, as long as it supports
Android. Here the difference between BB and iPhone, with android. If the BB
operating system and the iPhone can only run on certain handsets (of course RIM
outputs to BB, and poduk iphone of Apple's iPhone OS). Moreover, this operating
system is open, so that anyone can edit this operating system. The advantages
of Android, among others, offer the experience of using different phones.
Android supports multi-touch, multi gesture, connectivity using the data plan,
or via WiFi and WiMax, and others (like the iPhone). The difference with the
iPhone (with iOS version <4), Android supports multitasking. The other thing
that is a plus point of Android is, how marketing Android like Linux, most of
the community, so it is certainly a community of users and developers of
android known to be quite solid. Android actually supports push notification,
but limited to products from Google (gmail, google calendar, etc). And there is
also a third party that implements the features of push to android, namely
Xtify, there is also MQTT. So as a layman, the push to Android is still
relatively limited. And the rest belong to some poll (not push, not pull, but
the poll). Poll is the mechanism by which the handset will continuously check
if there are any updates to the server in a certain period of time.
2.1.1 Strenghts
If you want a
smartphone with a touch screen that has a good performance, but do not want the
market to use the iPhone (or do not have the budget to buy the iPhone, which is
expensive) and want multitasking, select Android.
If you want a
smartphone that supports games with good graphics and besides it like looking
for free applications online, select Android.
2.1.2Weaknesses
You need a
smartphone with a carrying capacity of battery is best? Do not use Android.
Android generally require a larger battery energy than BB and iPhone.
If you need a
keyboard is responsive and practical, do not use Android.
iPhone
iPhone is a
smartphone developed by Apple. Typical users of the iPhone is typical of loyal
users, why? Since most of the iPhone users were satisfied with the smartphone.
Moreover, compared with Android, the iPhone has a multi-touch performance and
multi-gesture better. If Android handset hardware performance would depend
used. iPhone also became one of the young style overseas. Talk games? iPhone
has many applications of games and other fun applications, or you could say the
iPhone developers who create applications simple, but slightly Geje alias not
clear. An example is application vuvuzela, which will issue a vuvuzela sound if
we shake the iPhone. But make no mistake, this vuvuzela app is predicted to get
good revenue and also downloaded users. IPhone operating system also offers the
experience of using the phone (user experience) the most good.
2.1.3 Strenghts
If
you need a stylish smartphone, has a multi-touch performance best, and
supplemented by applications simple but pleasant, select iPhone
If
you want to play games that is diverse, living his store looking at the iPhone,
and of course, first select the iPhone as your smartphone
2.1.4 Weaknesses
If you are
careless (like dropping things), the iPhone is too dear to be downed. Think
twice if you want to drop your iPhone
If you want
multitasking, do not select the iPhone. But iOS version 4 supports multitasking
iPhone usually
entered Indonesia via the black market, because in general the iPhone sold by
way of bundling with the operator and the iPhone is always late getting to
Indonesia, therefore, worth considering if you want to buy an iPhone.
There is no
perfect smartphone applications, because each has its own features and
functions. Two main rival Android and iOS (iPhone) provide the competition very
rapidly and we’ve already choose
between both of them.
2.2
Comparison Chart
Google's Android and Apple's iOS are operating systems used primarily
inmobile
technology, such as
smartphones and tablets. Android, which is Linux-based and partly open source, is more PC-like than iOS, in that its interface and basic features are generally
more customizable from top to bottom. However, iOS' uniform design elements are
sometimes seen as being more user-friendly.
You should choose your smartphone and tablet systems carefully, as
switching from iOS to Android or vice versa will require you to buy apps again
in the Google Play or Apple App Store. Android is now the world’s most commonly
used smartphone platform and is used by many different phone manufacturers. iOS
is only used on Apple devices, such as the iPhone.

Both android
and iPhone are very popular, being Smartphone contributes a lot to their popularities
all the articles pointed out they are very different when it comes Operating
Systems, applications
software, and programming languages. Their respective OS and programming language
reflect their disadvantages and advantages in the mobile phone industry.
2.2
The Different between Android and iOS
2.2.1
Closed systems
vs. open systems
The iPhone is as proprietary as Apple can
possibly make it. If you like what Apple wants to give you in the iPhone,
you'll never notice.
But, if you want more than what Apple wants to
offer you, you're out of luck. TakeAdobe Flash, for example. Adobe would love to let you view
Flash videos and play Flash games on an iPhone, but Apple will have nothing to do with
Flash. Short of the
Department of Justice ordering Apple to let Flash
on iPhones or Adobe suing Apple into submission, the only way Flash will show up on
iPhones, or iPads for that matter, will be through technical kludges.
Android is far more open. If there's an Android
application out there, even if it's not in Google's official Android Market, you can download, install, and run it.
2.2.2
Security
The downside of anyone being able to build
Android applications is that some of them, perhaps as many as one in five
Android applications, have security holes in this at this time.
While any system can be broken, at this time
the iPhone's tightly controlled applications seem to be the safest bet for
people who want a secure phone. Just as we're finally leaving PC and Windows'
perpetually broken security model, we're going to be facing a new generation of
security problems built around the vulnerabilities that comes with mobile
computing.
2.2.3
User Control
If you like how the iPhone and iOS
handles things, life is great. And, to be perfectly fair, Apple has killer design
engineers whose job is to make sure you're going to love the interface and how
it all works together. But, say, you'd like more control over how widgets
appear or what the interface looks like, in that case, Android is your better
choice.
2.2.4
Vendor Lock-in
Obviously, if you want an iPhone you have to
buy it from Apple at their price, whereas several vendors offer Android phones
and more will be arriving shortly. But, what I'm talking about is the one thing
that many iPhone users hate: being forced to use
AT&T. That may
be changing. As I write this, there's a Bloomberg report that Verizon will start offering the
iPhone in January 2011. For many iPhone users, some
choice with their wireless carriers can't come soon enough. Once again, of
course, Android phone users already have lots of choices.
2.2.5
Battery Life
Here I see a situation where you get to pick
your poison. Generally speaking, iPhones have had better battery life for me.
That's the good news. The bad news is that you can't replace the battery
yourself. I hate that.
On the flip side, Android-powered hardware
seems to average a couple of hours less time per charge for me. And, yes I know
all about battery training and optimization. When it comes to battery life, I
see it as a coin-flip between the two.
That also pretty much describes my feelings
between the iPhone and Android phones. Generally speaking, since I hate phones, I'll use whichever is handier at
any given moment. I know for many of you though picking the right smartphone is
a big deal.
II.
CONCLUSION
Smartphone has increasingly become a
daily necessity in the 21st century. Multifunctional, many uses, and the device
closest to humans goods shall be brought every day. Although not all
smartphones are designed and made according to the expectations of their users.
Android OS and iOS role is the
development direction of advancement in technology because each version gets
better, android and iOS smartphones or better known as iPhone OS, dominate the
business market, and compete with other products. In fact, now the android and
iOS compete, ranging from systems, software, to design to a smartphone or
tablet may ever they compete, as well as to take advantage of market niches
with good business, top-class vendor support and reputation of Google's Android
and Apple's iOS.
